About Yeung's Lotus Express
Yeung's Lotus Express is a chinese restaurant in Elizabeth, New Jersey. It is listed at 651 Kapkowski Rd, Elizabeth, NJ 07201, which places it among the local businesses of Elizabeth that residents and visitors turn to when they need this kind of service close by. Google also lists it under takeout restaurant, which is worth knowing if you are comparing several options in the area.
In cities with a Chinatown, weekend mornings bring dim sum carts or order sheets, and lines form early at the most popular spots in Elizabeth; walk-ins are standard and reservations are uncommon outside large banquet restaurants. Regional labels matter: Cantonese, Sichuan, Hunan, Shanghainese and Taiwanese kitchens cook very differently, so a restaurant's stated region is a better guide to the food than the word "Chinese" alone. Some smaller restaurants in New Jersey are BYOB with no corkage fee; call ahead to confirm. A tip of 15-20% is customary for table service but not expected at counter-order takeout. Spice level, MSG and allergen questions are normal to ask before ordering, and most kitchens are happy to leave an ingredient out or tone down the heat if you mention it when ordering rather than after the food arrives.
Hours are published for 7 days a week. Typical hours are 10 amβ9 pm. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. You can reach Yeung's Lotus Express at (908) 409-7042; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions.
Its Google rating stands at 1.6 out of 5 from 170 reviews, which is below average for the category; consider the recent reviews carefully before visiting.

I had a very disappointing experience. The food tasted bad, and after I got home I developed diarrhea. It was so severe that I had stomach pain for two days. Based on my experience, I would not recommend eating here unless you want food poisoning. The food is very old and unhealthy

This place is gross and I also did not check reviews before buying it. The vegetables I got taste like they were frozen. It was so mushy and had a lot of liquid coming from it. Not fresh. Also the chicken probably is frozen to and just coated in sauce. Nothing tasted fresh. I am upset they are charging 16$ for garbage

Honestly I should have checked the reviews before coming here. Absolutely insane with the prices youβre teeing more 2 entries, 6 pieces dumpling, and a side of extra protein came up to 60$. Mind you the dumplings had a better portion than the protein and tell me why it came in an extra small container than the dumplings. It also costed 8$ for that small container!!!! Really yall have to do better!!!!

Please run away from this place. I REGRET not coming on here to check reviews before ordering the food! My mom had the fried rice and orange chicken. When I tried one the orange chicken was too sweet and had a weird artificial taste to it that made me want to throw up. My mom agreed that the chicken felt very sweet and thinks it had too much breading to it. I had lo me in noodles with 2x portion of beef and broccoli. The noodles were strangely sweet rather than balanced with salty and sweet. The broccoli had a burnt taste to it and the beef was hard. I couldn't even finish the plate because it had such a weird taste to it almost like they tried to do a Chinese Jamaican fusion dish. It just didn't taste right. Lastly, 4 dollars for a bottle of coke and 4 dollars for gold peaks tea?! No, never again am I coming here to eat again.

This restaurant is located inside the mall, but the person at the front desk taking orders was pretty rude and hard to hear. The chicken was really bad; it was way too sweet, and they charged $4 just for a coke, which is super strange! Overall, it was a completely disappointing service experience.
